I have reinstalled the OS, it's actually worse after the re-installation, as in the system is even slower. I had AVG, so uninstalled it and installed Avast- on the advice of an expert on Geeks to go. I have not recently installed any new programs. I have run sfc /scannow, dism /cleanup-image /restorehealth, to no avail.
